Using the Fenix LD45R zoom flashlight
Turn on/off and switch power modes - To turn the light on or off, hold the side button for approximately 0.5 seconds. You can switch power modes at any time during operation by pressing the side button. Flash modes can be activated by holding the button for 1.2 seconds.
Efficient OLED display mode- When the light is turned on, the OLED display will automatically switch to the energy saving mode after 10 seconds of inactivity and its brightness will be reduced by 50%. The brightness of the display automatically resumes when the button is pressed again.
Smooth control of spot and flood light- A rotary switch can be used to smoothly control between spot and flood light. The rotary switch can be rotated in a 270 degree range.
Memory for last set mode - The flashlight always turns on in the last selected mode with the exception of the two highest modes and strobe or SOS.
Lock/Unlock - To prevent accidental switching on of the flashlight e.g. in luggage, press the button twice quickly (the flashlight must be switched off), the flashlight will then flash twice in low mode and the locked symbol will appear on the OLED display for 1 second. To unlock, press the button twice quickly again, the unlocked lock symbol appears on the OLED display for 1 second and the flashlight switches to low mode. Unintentional switching on can also be prevented by loosening the flashlight end cap.
Changing the battery - Unscrew the flashlight end cap and insert the battery with the plus pole facing the head. Then fully tighten the flashlight end cap again.
Charging - Remove the dust cap and plug the USB-C charging cable into the flashlight's charging port. When charging is complete, reseal the dust cap. Normal charging time for the included ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery is 3 hours with a 5V/2.5A USB power supply. During charging, the OLED display shows the charging icon and the charge level indicator.
Note: The OLED display shows a crossed-out battery symbol when the battery is inserted backwards or not inserted at all.
Battery charge level indication - During flashlight operation, the OLED display shows a four-part charge level indicator. When the flashlight is turned off, the indicator is displayed for 3 seconds after a short press of the button. Four lit parts mean the battery is 100-75% charged, three lit parts 75-50%, two lit parts 50-25%, one lit part 25-10% and no lit part 10-1%.
Intelligent overheat protection - When using the flashlight on high power modes for long periods of time, a large amount of heat will accumulate. When the flashlight reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the power by several lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will gradually increase again.
Drained battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below 3.0V, the flashlight will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power mode is reached, the battery charge status icon will flash on the OLED display. In this case, recharge the flashlight as soon as possible or replace the battery with a charged one.
