The Keeppower AA USB-C 3100 mAh (P1450TC2) rechargeable battery serves as a replacement for standard AA batteries. Inside is a Li-ion cell equipped with control electronics that maintain a stable 1.5 V output voltage for the first 60-70% of its capacity, after which it gradually drops until it is discharged at approx. 1.1 V. The battery is therefore particularly suitable for devices that are sensitive to voltage levels and, for example, do not work correctly or only for a short time with rechargeable NiMH batteries. The minimum capacity of the battery is 2800 mAh according to the manufacturer (a reference capacity of 3100 mAh / 4650 mWh is marked on the battery itself).
The battery is charged only via the built-in USB-C connector, so it can be charged from a computer, a mobile phone charger, a power bank, or another USB source. Alternatively, it can also be charged in specialized chargers VX4, Keeppower I4, and Keeppower i8. It cannot be charged in a standard Li-ion or NiMH charger.
The battery also has built-in protection against complete discharge and short circuits (the maximum continuous discharge current is approx. 2 A). The battery is therefore suitable for devices such as cameras, navigation systems, weather stations, laboratory equipment, and trail cameras. The battery is also compatible with all Fenix headlamps and flashlights that use AA batteries. These include models such as Fenix E12, E20, LD12R, LD22, HM23, HP16R.
When using this battery, it is necessary to consider that the remaining capacity cannot be reliably determined by the output voltage. During the first 60-70% of its capacity, the voltage remains a constant 1.5 V, and only then does it gradually drop to approx. 1.1 V under load. In any case, when the battery is fully discharged, its voltage will suddenly drop from 1.1 V to 0 V.
