The Fenix HP12R-T is a high-performance headlamp with a practical design featuring a separate rear battery case. Thanks to its dual reflectors, it provides a luminous flux of up to 1300 lumens (ANSI) and a beam distance of up to 200 meters. The reflectors create well-focused light beams that illuminate both far and near simultaneously.
- The main reflector shines with a cool white light (approx. 6500 K), which is ideal for normal, good visibility.
- The secondary reflector has a neutral white tint (approx. 4500 K), which penetrates fog, rain, and snow better, making it great for adverse weather conditions.
The main reflector offers four lighting modes (up to 1300 lm) and the secondary reflector offers three modes (up to 500 lm).For maximum performance, both reflectors can be turned on simultaneously in turbo mode (1300 lm) or low mode (70 lm). For safety and special situations, the headlamp is also equipped with a front red light, a red SOS flash, and a red light and flasher on the rear battery case. Power is supplied by a replaceable 4000 mAh Li-ion battery, which is conveniently charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp's body. Like other top-tier Fenix trail headlamps, the HP12R-T is equipped with a strap featuring the SPORT FIT system. A single rotary dial allows you to easily and quickly tighten the headlamp with one hand. The perforated strap with reflective elements is breathable, comfortable, and increases your passive safety. A practical bonus is the integrated whistle for emergency situations. Thanks to its balanced design, the headlamp is an ideal choice for trail running, cycling, and skiing. It will also serve you well for hiking, climbing, camping, fishing, or even in industrial and professional environments. In short, it's a reliable partner for any situation!
All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Usage
From the factory, there may be an insulating cap on the battery inside the battery case. Remove it from the battery before first use.
On/Off and Mode Switching - the cooler reflector is turned on by holding the right button (approx. 0.5s), the reflector with neutral white light is turned on by holding the left button (0.5s). The reflectors can be turned on simultaneously in turbo mode (1300 lm) or low mode (70 lm) by pressing the button of the reflector you want to add. The turned-off headlamp switches to red light with a quick double press of either button. Light modes are switched by a short press of the button of the currently lit reflector. The light is turned off again by holding the respective button for 0.5s. The rear red light/flasher is turned on by holding the button on the battery case (approx. 0.5s), and you can switch between flashing and steady light with short presses.
Lock/Unlock - lock: The control buttons can be locked to prevent accidental activation, e.g., during transport in luggage - in the off state, press and hold both buttons until the headlamp flashes, indicating it is locked. To unlock, hold both buttons again until the headlamp flashes and turns on.
Memory for the last set power mode - the headlamp has memory and will turn on in the last set power mode of the respective reflector.
Battery Replacement - unscrew the cap on the rear battery case and remove/insert the battery according to the polarity marks. Replace the cap and tighten it firmly.
Charging - flip open the dust cover on the battery case and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port. After charging is complete, replace the dust cover. The normal charging time is approx. 3.5 hours with a 5V/2.5A USB source for a fully discharged headlamp in the off state. The headlamp can be used while charging, but this will extend the charging time. During the charging process, the indicators light up and flash sequentially. When all indicators are permanently on, charging is complete.
Battery Level Indication - After a short press of any button (the headlamp must be off), the LED battery level indicator on the battery case is activated. Four lit LEDs mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 50-80%, two 40-50%, one 20-40%, and one flashing indicates the battery is less than 20% charged. The indication works flawlessly only with original batteries.
Intelligent Overheat Protection - when using the headlamp in high power modes for extended periods, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the output by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60°C, the output will increase again to the previous level.
Low Battery Warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode of the cooler white light. After reaching the lowest output, the headlamp will flash every 5 minutes to remind you to recharge or replace the battery. This works only with original batteries.
Headband - The headband is assembled from the factory. To tighten the strap, turn the dial counter-clockwise. To loosen the strap, turn the dial clockwise. Further turning the dial after maximum loosening will start to tighten the strap again, reversing the direction of loosening and tightening.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Fenix recommends using original Fenix ARB-L18 series batteries of excellent quality.
- Remove the battery from the battery case if you will not be using it for an extended period, or if the battery is depleted. For disposable batteries, there is a risk of leakage and subsequent damage to the headlamp.
- Lock the headlamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Always carefully check that you are inserting the batteries into the headlamp with the correct polarity.
- If the headlamp flickers, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is nearly empty – charge it.
- The headlamp is locked, unlock it (see user manual).
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp and a two-year warranty on the battery.
