The specifications of this headlamp are preliminary and subject to change; some parameters will be updated later. We expect to launch sales in late August or during September.
The new generation of the popular rechargeable headlamp, the Fenix HM65R Topaz V2.0, pushes the boundaries of performance and versatility, replacing both the HM65R and HM75R Topaz models. It boasts an ultralight magnesium alloy body, uncompromising durability, and a unique triple-reflector design. It offers an astonishing maximum output of up to 2,000 lumens and, compared to its predecessor, features a highly requested powerful red light.
The spotlight now delivers an output of up to 1,800 lumens with a neutral white tint and an impressive beam distance of up to TBD meters. It is ideal for fast movement, search operations, or terrain navigation. The floodlight, with a 500-lumen output, features a warm white tint (approx. 3000 K) and a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 94.5. It provides a smooth and wide beam for perfect illumination of the immediate surroundings, work applications, and comfortable map reading. The red light, with an output of up to 140 lm, preserves night vision, does not attract flying insects, and is indispensable for hunters, fishermen, astronomers, or tent use. The main reflectors are controlled independently. You can combine them freely to achieve a massive output of up to 2,000 lumens, allowing you to see far ahead and wide to the sides.
Exclusive Topaz Version Upgrades
Compared to the standard global version of the HM65R V2.0, the Topaz variant brings the following key changes:
- The spotlight LED features a neutral white light (approx. 4500 K).
- The floodlight LED features a warm white light (approx. 3000 K) and a high CRI 94.5 (Color Rendering Index).
- It maintains a higher sustained output in Turbo and High modes after heating up compared to the standard version.
- Stable performance in lower modes without automatic step-downs.
- The floodlight offers 4 output levels instead of 3, including an extra-efficient Eco mode at 3 lumens.
- The lowest red light mode has been reduced to 3 lumens (suitable for discrete lighting). Conversely, the flashing mode has been increased to 15 lumens with a higher frequency for a more effective warning function.
- Added memory function for the last used red light mode.
Weighing only 144 grams (including battery and headbands), the headlamp will not weigh you down even during a long run or a demanding trek. The design is engineered for the toughest conditions – it is completely dustproof and waterproof up to a depth of 2 meters (IP68 standard) and can survive drops from a height of 2 meters without damage.
Power is supplied by the included premium 18650 Li-ion battery with a 3400 mAh capacity, which can be easily and quickly recharged via the modern, waterproof USB Type-C port integrated directly into the headlamp. In an emergency or extreme cold, the headlamp can also be powered by two disposable CR123A lithium batteries.
This versatility and high durability make the Fenix HM65R Topaz V2.0 one of the best and most universal rechargeable headlamps on the market. It is the perfect choice for professionals, extreme athletes, runners, cyclists, hikers, hunters, fishermen, and cavers. It is guaranteed to light up your night in any imaginable situation!
All headlamp parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofing, beam distance, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Operating Instructions for the Fenix HM65R Topaz V2.0
An insulating cap may be placed on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use.
The spotlight is turned on by pressing and holding the right switch (approx. 0.5 s), and the floodlight is turned on by pressing and holding the left switch (0.5 s). Output levels are cycled by single-clicking the respective switch. Both reflectors are controlled independently and can be turned on simultaneously. The red light is activated by double-clicking either switch. To turn off any active light, press and hold the corresponding switch for 0.5 s.
Intelligent Memory Circuit - The headlamp features a memory function and will always turn on in the last selected output of the spotlight, floodlight, and red light (except for the spotlight's Turbo mode, which will activate in High mode for safety reasons).
Battery Level Indication - With the lamp turned off, a single click on either switch, or when turning the headlamp on, will activate the LED battery indicator between the switches for 3 seconds. Four lights on mean the battery is 80-100% charged, three lights 60-80%, two lights 40-60%, one light 20-40%, and one flashing light indicates the battery is below 20% (recharge the headlamp as soon as possible). Note: This function only works correctly with 18650 Li-ion batteries.
Lockout Function to prevent accidental activation (e.g., in a backpack) - With the lamp turned off, press and hold both switches simultaneously for 3 seconds. The lamp will then blink four times on the lowest floodlight mode to indicate locked status. To unlock, press and hold both switches again for 3 seconds. Plugging in the charging cable will automatically unlock the headlamp.
Low-Voltage Warning - When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the headlamp is programmed to automatically step down to a lower brightness level. If this happens in the lowest output and the battery indicator blinks, the battery is almost depleted and must be recharged or replaced.
Charging
- Open the anti-dust cover and plug the USB Type-C charging cable into the headlamp's charging port. Once charging is completed, carefully seal the anti-dust cover again.
- When charging, the four indicators will light up in sequence to display the charging status. Once charging is completed, all four indicators will be constant-on.
- The normal charging time for a fully depleted headlamp is approximately 2.5 hours (using a 5 V / 1.8 A or higher USB power source).
- The headlamp can be operated while charging, but this will prolong the charging time, and the highest (Turbo) output will not be available.
Warning
- Disassembling the sealed parts of the headlamp can cause damage and will void the warranty.
- Only use excellent quality 18650 Li-ion batteries with a protection circuit.
- When using disposable CR123A or rechargeable 16340 (RCR123A) batteries, never try to charge them in the headlamp! Do not mix batteries of different brands, ages, or capacities.
- If the headlamp flickers, fails to access higher modes, or does not turn on at all, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The electronic lockout is activated - unlock the headlamp by holding both switches for 3 seconds.
- The battery is depleted – recharge or replace it.
- The internal contacts of the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the headlamp and two years on the battery.
