The rechargeable headlamp Fenix HM61R Amber V3.0 offers a luminous flux of up to 1800 lumens (ANSI) of neutral white light (4500 K) with a beam distance of up to 195 meters. It offers three types of lighting in total – spotlight, floodlight, and red light – so you always have the right light at hand, whether you are exploring terrain, doing sports, working in a workshop, or just reading in a tent. The spotlight reflector creates a well-focused light beam with a long range, while the second reflector has a very wide and smooth beam pattern. The floodlight reflector offers a maximum output of 200 lumens with a high color rendering index CRI >90. A red light and red flash with a power of up to 70 lumens are also available. It is powered by one Li-ion battery type 18650 with a capacity of 4000 mAh, which is included in the package and is charged via a modern USB-C connector directly in the headlamp. In an emergency, the headlamp can also be powered by RCR123A (16340) batteries or disposable CR123A batteries. The headlamp is equipped with a wide comfortable strap. The strap is perforated for fast sweat removal and features reflective elements that ensure good passive visibility when running on the road.
The tail cap of the headlamp is magnetic, so it can be easily attached to anything made of iron. The HM61R Amber V3.0 features four lighting modes for each reflector, allowing you to choose between high performance and long endurance (up to 400 hours). The flashlight is powered by a digitally controlled constant current to guarantee constant light output even when the voltage in the batteries decreases (during their gradual discharge).
The all-metal construction ensures high durability, optimal cooling, and is fully waterproof according to the IP68 standard up to a depth of 2 meters underwater. The practicality of the headlamp is enhanced by the ability to remove the light from the head holder and use it as a pocket or work flashlight. In addition, the headlamp is equipped with a removable steel clip, so you can easily attach it to a pocket or strap. The multifunctional Fenix HM61R Amber V3.0 flashlight is an ideal companion for various sports activities, professional use, trips to nature, as well as for home and work.
The HM61R Amber V3.0 version is specially adapted for the Czech and Slovak market; it differs from the standard version in these points
- The LED in the spotlight reflector has a neutral light tint instead of cool white.
- It is controlled by one large button, which is easy to operate even with gloves.
- After warming up, it maintains higher output in Turbo and High modes than the standard HM61R V3.0 version.
- The floodlight cone has 4 power modes instead of 3, including an extra economical Eco mode with an output of 2 lumens and a runtime of 400 hours.
- Stronger and faster flashing of the red light allows the HM61R Amber V3.0 to be used, for example, as a bike flasher.
- Memory for the last red light mode.
All flashlight parameters (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofing, range, and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard.

Usage
From the factory, there may be a black insulating cap on the battery inside the flashlight. Remove it from the battery before first use.
On/Off and mode switching: White light is turned on by holding the button for 0.5 seconds, the headlamp turns on into red light with a double quick press of the button. The power modes of the turned-on light color are then switched by briefly pressing the button. The light is turned off again by holding the button for 0.5 s.
Switching between spotlight and floodlight: You switch between the spotlight and floodlight by holding the button for 1.2 seconds while the headlamp is on.
Memory for the last set power mode: The headlamp has a memory and turns on in the last set power mode of the respective reflector, with the exception of the spotlight Turbo mode (it always turns on in High mode).
Lock/Unlock: When the headlamp is off, quickly press the button 3 times, the headlamp will flash 4 times to signal locking. It is unlocked again with three quick presses of the button, then it flashes 4 times and stays lit in the Eco mode of the floodlight. Note: In the locked state, any operation other than unlocking will trigger 4 flashes to indicate locking. Removing and inserting the battery unlocks the headlamp. Accidental activation in luggage can also be prevented by loosening the battery cap of the headlamp by a quarter turn, which breaks the electrical contact and the headlamp cannot be turned on.
Intelligent proximity sensor: The headlamp has a built-in safety circuit. When the spotlight is on and the headlamp gets closer to the illuminated object than 6 cm, it automatically reduces the output to 30 lumens to prevent overheating and potential burning or damage to the illuminated object. When the headlamp moves away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 seconds, it automatically restores the previously used power mode.
Turning the proximity sensor Off/On: With the headlamp off, press and hold the button for 6 seconds. The headlamp will flash twice, which means this function is on. To turn the function off again, hold the button for 6 seconds with the headlamp off. The headlamp will flash 8 times, indicating that the function is off.
Overheat protection: When using the flashlight on high power modes for a long time, a large amount of heat accumulates. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 65 °C or higher, it automatically reduces the power to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 65 °C, it allows the user to select high modes again.
Battery charge status indication: Every time it is turned on, or after pressing the button when the headlamp is off, the indication LED in the button activates for three seconds:
- Constant green: 100% - 85%
- Green flashing: 85% - 50%
- Constant red: 50% - 20%
- Red flashing: 20% and less (recharge the headlamp as soon as possible)
- The indication is active only with a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery.
Low battery warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp automatically switches to lower power modes. If this happens at Low power, the battery charge status indicator will start flashing to remind you to recharge or replace the battery in time. Note: This function is active only with a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery.
Charging
- Flip open the dust cap and plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port of the headlamp. Seal the dust cap again after charging is complete.
- During charging, the indicator lights up red. It turns green when fully charged.
- The standard charging time is 2.5 hours with a 5 V/2 A USB source for a fully discharged headlamp. The headlamp can be used while charging, but the charging time will be extended and the available power modes depend on the current battery charge status.
- Only Li-ion batteries of type 18650 can be charged, do not try to charge disposable CR123A batteries or 16340 batteries.
Warning
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the headlamp yourself, this will void the warranty.
- We recommend using high-quality Li-ion batteries with protective electronics (Fenix 18650). Li-ion type 18650 are powerful batteries and must be handled with appropriate caution. The inclusion of protective electronics reduces the possibility of catastrophic failure, but Fenix is not responsible for damage caused by the use of non-original batteries from other manufacturers.
- Remove the battery from the headlamp if you are not going to use it for a long time, or if it is discharged. With disposable batteries, there may be a risk of leakage and subsequent damage to the headlamp.
- Lock the headlamp or loosen the battery cap to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- Long-term use may result in wear of the O-ring. To maintain proper water sealing, replace the ring with a spare one.
- If the flashlight flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be one of the following reasons:
- The battery is almost discharged – charge it or replace it.
- The contacts inside the flashlight are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
- The rear part of the flashlight is loose – tighten it.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the flashlight, two-year warranty on the battery.
