The powerful rechargeable bike light Fenix BC28R Emerald delivers a top luminous flux of up to 2500 lumens (ANSI) with a beam distance of up to 180 meters. It is powered by a replaceable 21700 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which is included in the package and charges via a modern USB-C port directly in the light. The light source is a modern Cree XHP50D LED with a neutral white light. The advantage of this light tint is more natural and contrasting color rendering in the field. The specially designed optics create an anti-glare cut-off beam, which effectively reduces the blinding of oncoming drivers and pedestrians. It directs the light exactly where you need it – on the road ahead of you. The CNC-machined aluminum alloy body with an elegant carbon fiber imitation finish gives the light an exclusive look.
The mount design allows for quick installation and removal on the handlebars without the use of tools, and the light can be detached instantly for handheld use. The mount is compatible with round handlebars with a diameter of 22 to 32 millimeters (up to 35 mm when all rubber inserts are removed). The Fenix BC28R Emerald offers a total of five digitally regulated constant lighting modes with a runtime of up to 65 hours, plus a safety flashing mode. You can separately purchase a handlebar mount for a second bike, the Fenix ALD-08 mount for a cycling helmet or flat aero road handlebars, and the Fenix ALD-10 adapter for attaching the light to GoPro mounts. The Fenix BC28R Emerald is the ideal front bike light for off-road and road cycling, whether it's night training, regular commuting, or endurance races.
The BC28R Emerald version is specially modified for our market, differing from the standard version in the following points:
- The package does not include a rear light, making the standalone front light more affordable.
- Redesigned controls – pressing the main switch increases the output, while the secondary button decreases it. There is no need to cycle through the modes continuously.
- It is additionally equipped with a 200-lumen mode, ideal for riding on bike paths and light terrain.
- After heating up, it maintains a higher output in the two highest modes and does not step down the output in modes of 600 lumens and below.
- The flashing output is reduced to pulsating between 50 and 200 lumens for a longer runtime.
- The light locks with a triple-click instead of a double-click, minimizing the chance of accidental locking when riding on rough terrain.
All parameters of the flashlight (luminous flux, battery runtime, waterproofing, and beam distance) are measured according to the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard.

Using the Bike Light
There may be an insulating cap inside the light on the battery from the factory. Remove it from the battery before first use. To unscrew the battery cap, use the included plastic key (using a coin or sharp tool may cause scratching).
Emerald Control (front light only): To turn the light on or off, hold the main switch for about 0.5 seconds. The light turns on in the last set mode (except Turbo and flashing). When the light is on, pressing the main switch increases the output, and pressing the secondary switch decreases the output. To switch to flashing mode, double-click the main switch quickly.
Standard Fenix Control (front and rear light): In this mode, the light is turned on/off by holding the main switch for about 0.5 seconds. Output modes are then cycled by pressing the main switch. To switch to flashing mode, double-click the main switch quickly when the light is on. In this mode, you can also pair the front light with a compatible rear light (not included). To pair, first hold the rear light switch for about 5 seconds (it will flash red and green alternately). Then click the secondary switch of the front light once; the rear light indicator will turn green. Press the rear light switch again to confirm the pairing. (After initial pairing, the lights remember the connection for next time). After pairing, you can change the rear light modes by pressing the front light's secondary switch.
Switching between Emerald and Standard Fenix control: Press and hold the main switch of the light for 5 seconds (the light will flash and turn off to confirm the change). The Emerald control is set by default from the factory.
Locking the light: When the light is off, press the main switch quickly three times (within 0.5 s). The light will blink twice to indicate it is locked. Repeat the process to unlock. This protects the light against accidental activation, e.g., in a backpack.
Battery Level Indication: After turning on, or after a short press of the main switch when the light is off, the indicator LED will activate for three seconds. A solid green light indicates a charge of more than 85%, green flashing indicates 50-85%, a solid red light indicates 25-50%, and red flashing indicates a critically low battery (less than 25%).
Low Battery Warning: If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the light will step down the brightness to a lower level. Upon reaching the lowest output, the indicator will start flashing red. In this case, we recommend recharging the battery in time.
Charging
- Open the anti-dust cover of the USB-C port on the bottom of the light and use the included USB cable to plug it into a computer, power bank, USB wall adapter, or USB car adapter.
- During charging, the indicator LED lights up red; when fully charged, it lights up green.
- The normal charging time for the front light is approximately 3.5 hours (with a 5 V/3 A USB source).
- The light can be used normally while charging, but the charging time will be prolonged.
- After charging is complete and the power cable is removed, make sure to carefully seal the anti-dust cover.
Warnings
- Do not disassemble the sealed parts of the light yourself; this will void the warranty.
- Lock the light or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transport.
- We recommend using only high-quality 21700 Li-ion batteries with protective electronics (original Fenix batteries).
- If the light flashes intermittently or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is drained – charge or replace it.
- The electrical contacts inside the light are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the light, two-year warranty on the battery.
