The Fenix HM71R V2.0 is a high-performance rechargeable headlamp that offers an output of up to 3500 lumens in the short-term Instant Turbo mode and a beam distance of up to 275 meters. The headlamp is equipped with a spotlight and a floodlight, as well as a red light. The spotlight features a Luminus SFT-60 LED, providing an output of up to 3000 lumens. The floodlight, with a Luminus SST-20F LED, offers up to 500 lumens for illuminating close surroundings. Two red LEDs provide up to 100 lumens, and a flashing red light is available for signaling. It is powered by a single 21700 Li-ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 5500 mAh, which is included in the package and charges directly inside the headlamp via a USB-C port. With a corresponding adapter, it fully charges in approximately 2 hours. In the lowest floodlight mode, the headlamp can run for up to 337 hours.
Operation is managed by a combination of a rotary switch and an electronic button. The switch allows you to easily select the spotlight, floodlight, or red light, while the button sets the desired output. The switch also has a position for turning off and locking the headlamp to prevent accidental activation. A battery level indicator informs you of the remaining power. The waterproof USB-C port is equipped with a sliding cover to protect against dust and dirt. The tail cap is magnetic, so the flashlight can easily be attached to iron surfaces, keeping your hands free while working.
The all-metal construction made of aluminum alloy ensures high durability and efficient cooling. The headlamp is fully waterproof and dustproof according to the IP68 standard and can withstand drops from a height of 2 meters. Practicality is enhanced by the quick-release bracket with a pocket clip, making it easy to detach the light and use it as a handheld or work flashlight. With the clip, you can attach it to a pocket or strap. The multifunctional Fenix HM71R V2.0 headlamp will be appreciated by athletes, cavers, mountain guides, ski mountaineers, climbers, rescuers, mountain rescue services, as well as mechanics, industrial workers, hikers, or anglers.
The flashlight parameters are measured in accordance with the ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard.

Usage
Turning On and Off: If the headlamp is off and locked, turn the rotary switch from the locked position to the desired light type. If unlocked, turn it on by pressing and holding the electronic button for 0.5 seconds. To turn off the headlamp, hold the button for 0.5 seconds or turn the switch to the locked position, which also secures it against accidental activation.
When the headlamp is on, short presses of the electronic button will cyclically cycle through the output modes of the selected reflector.
Switching Light Types: The rotary switch allows you to toggle in both directions between the positions: red light – off/locked – spotlight – floodlight.
Instant Maximum Output (Instant Turbo): In any white light mode, press and hold the electronic button for 1.2 seconds to activate the 3500-lumen output. A short press of the button returns you to the previous light type and output. It will also return automatically after 60 seconds without further operation. The output may vary based on battery charge and environmental conditions; if it overheats, the overheat protection may reduce the output.
Mode Memory: The headlamp remembers the last used output of both the spotlight and the floodlight. If turned off in the highest Turbo mode, the second highest mode of that reflector will activate upon the next start. The red light does not feature memory for the last output.
Battery Level Indication: With the headlamp off, short press the electronic button. The indicator will light up for 3 seconds; pressing it again will turn it off immediately. The battery status is also displayed for 3 seconds every time the headlamp is turned on. A solid green light indicates 85–100 % capacity, flashing green 50–85 %, solid red 20–50 %, and flashing red 1–20 %.
Locking the Headlamp: Turn the switch to the locked position. The headlamp will turn off and lock. To unlock and turn on, rotate the switch to the desired light type. For long-term storage or transportation, the manufacturer recommends removing the battery.
Overheat Protection: If the temperature of the headlamp reaches 55 °C or higher, it will automatically step down the output to cool off. Once the temperature drops below 55 °C, the output will gradually increase.
Low Battery Warning: If the battery voltage drops below a set level, the headlamp automatically shifts to lower output modes. If the voltage drops while in the lowest mode, the battery indicator will start flashing red. In this case, recharge or replace the battery as soon as possible.
Charging
Slide back the charging port cover and connect the USB-C cable to the headlamp. Plug the other end of the cable into a suitable USB adapter. During charging, the indicator glows red, and it turns green when charging is complete. Charging a fully depleted Fenix ARB-L21-5500 battery takes approximately 2 hours with a 9V/3A or higher adapter while the headlamp is off. During charging, the headlamp can be used in all modes except Turbo. After charging, disconnect the cable and slide the cover back in place to keep dust and dirt out of the port.
Warnings
- Do not disassemble the sealed part of the headlamp yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Use only high-quality 21700 Li-ion batteries with protective electronics. Batteries without protective electronics must not be used.
- Remove the battery from the headlamp if it will not be used for an extended period.
- Do not shine directly into eyes and keep the headlamp out of the reach of children.
- Do not bring the illuminated reflectors close to flammable objects.
- If the sealing O-ring appears damaged or worn after prolonged use, replace it to maintain the flashlight's waterproof integrity.
- If the light flickers, shines intermittently, or does not turn on, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
- The battery is nearly dead – recharge or replace it.
- The contacts on the battery or the headlamp are dirty – clean them with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
Warranty
Five-year warranty on the flashlight, two-year warranty on the battery.
